The Handpan D Kurd 9 Notes is a melodic percussion instrument crafted from two connected stainless steel hemispheres: the DING (top side) and the GU (bottom side). The DING side features 9 carefully tuned tonal fields arranged in a circular layout around the central dome, offering a smooth and intuitive playing surface similar to a gong.
The GU side includes a 10 cm resonator opening that allows expressive bass modulation and percussive effects similar to an udu drum. This expands the dynamic range of the instrument and adds rhythmic depth and character to melodic playing.
Tuned in the versatile and emotionally rich D Kurd scale, this handpan delivers a deep, warm, and harmonically balanced sound.
